The Gate Toll

One model. No tiers, no seats, no plans to outgrow. You pay a single small toll each time someone passes through the Gate — a successful, audited sign-in — and everything Obelisk offers is included. The toll falls as you grow, so scale is rewarded, not punished.

Pay per passage, not per seat

Most identity products charge per monthly active user — a seat tax that grows with your success and bills you for accounts that never even sign in. Obelisk has just one price: the Gate Toll. Each successful, interactive sign-in through the Gate is one passage — and every passage is already a signed receipt you can audit. Token refreshes and silent re-validation inside a live session are free; you're only billed for a real authentication.

One toll. Everything included. No Free/Pro/Enterprise tiers, no feature gates, no minimum seats. Organizations, team invites, website scans, the receipt chain, never-lockout, and your live Obelisk Rating come with every account. The only thing you ever pay for is a real sign-in.

The toll

Every account gets 10,000 passages a month, free forever. Above that, the per-passage toll decays as volume rises — each higher band has a lower rate, so your effective cost per passage keeps falling the more you grow. No renegotiation, no sales call: the discount is automatic and the same for everyone.

Monthly passagesToll / passage
first 10,000$0 — free, forever
10k – 100k$0.0100
100k – 500k$0.0070
500k – 2M$0.0040
2M+$0.0020 (floor)

Running at serious volume and want a committed rate or data residency? The floor only goes down — talk to us. It's still the same toll, just lower.

Introductory pricing. The model is final — pay per passage, a decaying toll, 10,000 free every month. The per-passage rates shown are introductory and may be adjusted as the Gate Toll settles at launch; any change applies forward, never retroactively.

See your toll

Drag the slider to your monthly sign-ins and watch the Gate Toll against what seat-based providers would charge. This runs the real bracket math — the same one that bills you.

200,000 sign-ins / mo (~50,000 users)
Obelisk — the Gate Toll$1,600
Auth0 — auth only (est.)$1,150
Clerk — auth only (est.)$825
Effective rate$0.0084 / passage

Estimates: ~4 sign-ins per user/mo; Auth0 ~$0.023/MAU, Clerk $25 + $0.02/MAU over 10k. Your real Gate Toll is exact — every passage is a receipt.

One toll replaces your whole stack

Those other providers price login alone. Obelisk's one toll is your IdP + a live security Rating + tamper-evident audit + the Warden risk engine + off-box disaster recovery + a SAML IdP — capabilities you'd otherwise buy as separate tools. Take a SaaS with 50,000 monthly users who sign in about 4 times a month — 200,000 passages:

What you'd pay forHow it bills~Monthly cost
Obelisk — the Gate Toll (everything below, in one)200k passages: 90k×$0.010 + 100k×$0.007~$1,600
An IdP alone (Auth0 B2C)~$0.023+ per MAU × 50k~$1,500–2,000
An IdP alone (Clerk)$25 + $0.02 per MAU over 10k~$825 (counts dormant users)
+ a posture / CASB scannerper-app / per-seat$$$ extra
+ an audit / SIEM-style logper-event / per-GB$$$ extra
+ a fraud / risk engineper-check$$$ extra

So the Gate Toll lands around the price of premium auth alone — and gives you the whole security platform on top of it, at an effective $0.0084/passage that keeps falling as you grow. You don't pay less for less; you pay one fair toll for far more, and every billable passage is a signed receipt you can audit. Why that's worth more →

Why one toll is the honest model

Obelisk does more than log a user in — it gives you security you can prove: every passage is a signed, hash-chained receipt, so your bill is itself an auditable artifact, not a black box. A premium capability, priced like a utility, with nothing hidden behind a tier.

  • Aligned: you pay when a user is actually, securely let in — not for idle seats.
  • Pro-growth: the toll falls as you scale; success lowers your unit cost.
  • Auditable: every billable passage is a signed receipt — your invoice is verifiable.
  • No tier tax: no plans, no seat minimums, no feature gates, no charge for dormant accounts.
